Callum & Kelly vs. Too Close vs. Just Fine

Need help. I LOVE the name Callum, but my husband says that the nickname Cal is too close to my name, Kelly. Do you think nn. Cal and Kel would be a problem? (As a side note, I’d always call him Callum b/c I love it). Thanks.
