I think that Charlie would be okay as a nn for a little girl. What about naming her Charleen or Charolette and give her the nn Charlie. That would be much more feminine.

I agree that you should name her Charlotte or something. She may grow up to have many characteristics that would make Charlie a difficult match for her. If you give her the formal name, she can choose what variation to go by... Kind of strange to be named Charlie and choose to go by Charlotte though.

Also, the name Ratcliffe has a lot of pedigree, sounds very upper class. Formally naming her Charlie seems a bit low-brow--like naming your kid Billy instead of William.

I think all of your middle names would sound beautiful with a more formal name like Charlotte, but sound too formal for a first name like Charlie.

Also, I think the one syllable names following Charlie sound low-brow also. Like a beauty contestant. Presenting Miss Georgia... Charlie Ann...

You know what I mean? I think a longer middle name--Charlie Marianne Ratcliff, Charlie Elaine Ratcliff, Charlie Renata Ratcliffe, Charlie Miranda Ratcliff... These are all totally random, but they roll off the tongue well.

Good luck deciding!
