Gentry vs. for our vs. baby girl?

Gentry is a name that we are kinda stuck on right now. My friend from High School just married a guy with this name but I think it sounds better on a girl. What do you think? Can a girl pull this name off?

I really do not like it for a girl. It sounds very harsh and masculine. I have only ever known of boys with the name. It’s just really unflattering on a girl.

Landry has a similar feel and is much more feminine. Also, Ellery and Emery.

If you like it, then why not. You’ll probably get a few negative comments because it is a guys name and there’s been a few people posting boys names and want to use it on a girl lately. GL.
