Eilidh pr. AY-lee vs. wdyt?
We love the name. Should we spell it the original way, Eilidh, or will people mess that up too much? Ailey, Aili, we don’t know =/ Joining sisters Avital Grace (pr AH-vee-tahl) and Erin Breanne. Thanks! Liz, Will, Avital, Erin, and Eilidh/Ailey/Aili/?
The Top Baby Name is...

There are a ton of Gaelic names that I LOVE (Eoghan-Owen, Aisling-Ashlyn, Ruairi-Rori), but would never use the proper spellings because the would just be slaughtered in our culture.

I’d recommend Aylee.
I live in the US, and I would honestly "read" Eilidh as "eyelid," because the beginning is like Eileen, then, well, lid.
Ailey is cute, but makes me think only of Alvin Ailey, and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre... not a bad association, mind you, but one that I’d want to do on purpose, not incidentally, if that makes sense.
Aili, Ailie, Aileigh, Ayli, Aylie, Ayleigh, etc. all look either too nicknamey, or too complicated.
I think Aylee is lovely... easy to pronounce, easy to spell, and pleasant with Avital and Erin.
If you’re not set on Aylee, I also think Bronagh would be a gorgeous name for your girl.
Best wishes! :)

We’re sort of going back and forth with Eilidh, Ayleigh, and Aylee. Who knew picking a spelling was so hard? Can anyone suggest middle names as well?

I think Eilidh is too tough ... I would not even have a guess as to how to pronounce it ... sorry!

I think we like Aylee Faith / Ayleigh Faith
I think we’re leaning towards Ayleigh because the double E might not age well, but I like it better for when she’s a child, you know? We’ve ruled out Eilidh, the last thing we want is people calling our kid "Eyelid".

What about Ayley Faith?
I understand your reasoning about Aylee, but I feel the same about Ayleigh... too childish for an adult. Ashleigh, Hayleigh, Kayleigh, Alleigh, Carleigh, Ryleigh, Leigha, Leighla, etc... they all just seem like they’re trying too hard to be adorable, in my opinion... they’re really annoying (so sorry... just wanting to give honest feedback).
