Too close vs. You’re fine

So here’s the deal: my cousin recently had a daughter whom she named Agnes Marie (nn Nessie). I love the nickname Aggie, and want to name my daughter Agatha (please no comments on the name). My cousin lives on the other side of the US, but I’m worried that the names will be too close. What do you think? If they’re too close, can you think of any names similar in style? If they’re fine, middle names for Agatha? Thank you!

Although the names are similar, I don’t think they will be an issue. Especially given how far apart the 2 girls live! And that it’s your cousin’s daughter, so its a bit more removed. If you love Agatha then go for it!

I think it’s fine!! I know someone who named her daughter Agatha and we call her Aggie.
