Greta’s brother or sister vs. need a name

We are having baby #2 and would love some help finding a name that fits our style. We like names that are for lack of a better word proper with a fun cute nickname. Our daughter is Gretchen Sidney but we call her Greta. We are hoping to find a name that fits this style. Do you have any ideas for us? Thanks Alese

What’s the point in giving a child a name and then not using it?

Thank you, poster 3 could Henrietta have the nn of Hattie or is that a stretch? I like Henrietta but we can’t find a nn for it that we want to use.

I think Hattie works fine as a nn for Henrietta.

I do like Matilda nn Mattie and I’m sorry I thought the nn for Charlotte was Carli so I like that combo better Charli is all boy in my mind but thank you

Henrietta and Hattie work well....and posters above commenting on Gretchen...that’s hardly fair, helpful or positive to make those comments. The question was about a name to fit in with the style not what you think about their current child’s name that she already has.

Seriously, nobody asked your opinion on Gretchen/Greta. Some people are so rude and childish.

I think Greta is absolutely adorable. If I was having a little girl, she would be Greta or Georgia.
I also Looove Harriet/Hattie.
Posters on this site are really young, and a lot of them are teenagers (some pregnant; some not). I’d suggest checking out the blog associated with babynamewizard.com for some better opinions.

At any rate, I’ll suggest Lucille or Lucia nn Lucy
and Henry nn Hank.
