I vote for Max. Maximilian is just a bit much. If you want a full name for Max, I vote for Maxwell.

I love the name Max. It’s on my baby name list. But I would probably give him a longer name and use Max as a nickname. Other Max names are Maximus or Maxwell, but I like Maximilian the best.

Maximilian is rare and majestic and if you decide to choose it, it would give your son the option of using Max when he’s young or the longer name when he’s a mature man. Max looks incomplete to me. It needs a longer name to fall back on. Good luck!
