My husband is a big fan of the show "Family Guy," so I’ll I can hear when I see the name Lois is that little baby "Stewie" and the way he says the name.

I agree with the first poster- Family Guy is the first thing that comes to mind when I think about the name Lois. Even without Family Guy I wouldn’t EVER use it- to me it sounds like an old lady name.

I don’t think of Family Guy, I think of a girl I didn’t like in my university class! But seriously, I just am not a fan of the name and I can’t give you any specific reason why. If you like it, go ahead and use it because there really is nothing wrong with it. Maybe it’s just out of fashion and therefore sounds a bit strange to our ears.

It’s kind of old school, but I think it could be really pretty on a girl. You can even make it a little more modern by adding a double name like Lois-Kate. (I love that!)
I think more of Superman (that’s the girl’s name right?) before I think Family Guy. People are going to associate almost any name with something, so I wouldn’t worry about that. GL!
