Cassie actually originated as a nickname for Catherine.

How about Cassia? I’ve only heard it pronounced like KASH-uh which is pretty, but CASS-ee-uh sounds nice also. There’s also Casseopia, that sounds a little too overdramatic for me though.

I like the idea of using it as a nickname for the name Catherine also, since Catherine is very common a unique nickname for it would be a great idea.

One final idea that I really love (but is sort of out there) is Jocaste. It’s usually pronounced yo-CAS-tuh. It’s a Greek name used in the Oedipus plays by Sophocles, it’s definitely a unique name but still a very nice sounding one.
