Pereception of the name \"Sam\" vs. .

Hi everyone. We are strongly considering naming our son Samuel. He will go by "Sam". I’m wondering what everyone’s pereception of the name is. What kind of a guy is Sam? Positive or negatives are welcome. What adjectives describe Sam? Thanks.

Well, I know alot of them! I personally think of a middle/older aged man who is good looking and in shape.
I know a little girl, 10 years old, who is beautiful.
I know a 13 year old girl who is heavier and quite snotty.
I know a 14 year old girl who is VERY snooty and stuck up.
I know a 15 year old boy who is very atractive for his age and mature.
20 year old boy who is very athletic and mature.

Its not the name that makes the person, its the person that makes the name!

Sam is a sweet guy- young and old. I imagine preppy and sporty. I don’t see Sam as an artist/poet/rocker type, ya know?

Sam is laid back...kind of his own person or in my case dog...My dog is Samuel aka Sam or Sammy. The guys I have known named Sam though have been very nice...sweet sensitive types. Above poster is right your boy will make the name...the name will not make him! Good Luck!

I dated a guy named Sam back in the day, and he was a great guy. Fun, outgoing, in shape, and intellectual but not snooty. Was also really into jazz. Not sure if that helps, but that’s my association with the name Sam.
