Need opinions on vs. Rachel vs. and my situation

Hi, I’ve always loved the name Rachel. I have the name Rachel Summer in mind which I think is gorgeous, but...I work with a very annoying person named Rachel. I have known her for several years now. It hasn’t diminished how much I love the name RAchel. Just made me second guess using it. Mainly because I don’t want anyone at work teasing me about naming my baby after Rachel. (Nobody really likes her that much.)Or if she says something to me about naming my baby after her it’s really gonna get to me. But It’s not like we hang out and she’s very old and will likely retire in a few years anyway. Then the association will bed gone. Does that matter? I still love the name and want to use it. I guess I’m selfishly scared that I’M going to get teased for it by my co-workers. Has anybody been in a similar situation? HOw did u handle it?

I’m surprised you still like the name Rachel after working with someone named Rachel whom you find irritating. I used to LOVE the name Imogen, until I met a friend of a friend named Imogen who was the most annoying person ever and really put me off the name!

I would keep looking, because you might actually find another name you much prefer to Rachel. If you’ve always liked the name, you may not have been as open-minded to other names as you could have been.

Why not name her Summer? It’s a gorgeous name. You could always do Summer Rachel which is not as obvious.

If I’m honest, I’ve never liked Rachel because of a few Rachels from school that were nasty.

Other names you may like:
Carys (means love)
Callista (means most beautiful)
Calla (means beautiful)
Eva (means life)
Chloe (means blooming)
Helena (means bright)
Iris (means rainbow)
Ava (means bird)
Elise (means pledged to God)

Summer Elise would be so gorgeous.

I think that association would spoil the name for me. I probably wouldn’t use it.

I feel your pain! I have a very annoying SIL named Sara, so that put me off to the names Sadie and Seraphina. Personally, I couldn’t name my baby the same name as some I dislike.
