Magdelen/Magdelyn vs. nn Maddie?

What do you think of the name Magdalen/Magdelyn? Can Maddie be a nickname for this, instead of Maggie? Because we can’t use Maggie, it’s my neice’s name. Which spelling do you like? I personally like Magdelyn, but Magdalen was how Mary spelled it. Thanks-Hanna

Magdalen is the best spelling. The name is cute - adding a Y makes it look odd and IMO a bit less classy - sorry!

I think Maddie can be a nn, you could also nn her Magda, Lena or Dalen (like Darlin’).

I would personally spell it Magdalene I think it looks better. I also like Magdalena and the nn Lena is soooooo cute!

i love Magdalene with this spelling. Magdalyn looks made up though. i don’t think Maddie would work as a nn, and Maggie and Maddie would still be too close.
