Opinions on vs. the name Fate?

My husband recently suggested the name Fate for our first baby. He likes it for a boy, and Lily for a girl. I’m on board with Lily, but I’m unsure about Fate. I’m not sure it would make a good name to begin with, but it also sounds close to Faith to me which makes it seem feminine. What do you think of it? Thanks - Jess

I agree too close to Faith. I don’t care for it.

I agree that it might be a problem as a fn. He’d probably have to correct people a lot. I could see it as a mn though.

When I saw Fate I was thinking "Well maybe as a nn for Faith..." then I read your description XD yeah it’s feminine to me.
How about Tate?
