:( vs. Compromising?

My husband LOVES Ivy and so does everyone else but my favorite was Melanie so we could use the nickname MJ. My husband loved that too but he still has Ivy planned for this baby. Is there any way I could compromise with him so that he gets a name he loves and I get the nickname I love!?

Does your last name start with J? I’m just a little confused where you could get MJ from. If it’s from a middle name, could you possibly use that with Ivy (either as a middle or first name)?

It seems you love MJ way more than the name Melanie. You could 1- save it for a future child or 2- find a new nickname you like.
Try giving her a J middle name- IJ, EJ, Eve J.
Maeve, Miley, Malia?

No, unless you just call her MJ and he calls her Ivy. Just drop both and pick a name that you both love.
