Baby on the way! Boy and Girl vs. Names. Please Vote for vs. favourites and share opinions!

Hi! We are thrilled to announce our pregnancy. We have decided we will not find out the gender of our baby, and will go to the hospital with 2 names we love for either gender. we have a list of 8 girls names and 9 boys names. Middle names will stay as they are family names (matthew is daddy’s name!) We know some of our names are very popular and trendy, but that just seems to be our style. we are younger parents, but both have successful careers, so although we are young we do not want out names to come off as "teen momish" (we aren’t teens by any means!!) Anyway, we would love for you to vote for your favourites, give us you top 2 selection for each gender and share your opinions on our names. Last name is Bewsky (pr. Bew-ski) if that helps at all. Thanks so much!!!

Girls
Everleigh Anne (nn. Evie)---we love Evie but want something that could be more grown up when she is older. Neither of us like evelyn, but Eva is ok. Everleigh just seems very pretty to me, although I would really like opinions, comments, concerns on this one!
Lily Hannah
Ava Heather
Ella Catherine
Kadence Heather (nn. Kadie)
Maya (Miah/Myah?) Catherine
Abigael Anne (Abbey)-This name is spelt for daddy’s Irish heritage which is very important to him.
Mackenzie Anne (nn. Kenzie)

Boys
Declan Tyler
Lachlan Matthew
Cohen Matthew
Finn Kenneth
Noah Matthew
Hunter Matthew
Parker Matthew
Tyson Matthew
Liam Matthew

Thanks Again!!!

Declan Tyler & Liam Matthew.

I’m sorry, but I don’t like Everleigh. It sounds really made up. How about Eva Leigh?

Faves

Lily Hannah
Ella Catherine

Lachlan Matthew
Noah Matthew

I like the names above because they age well (Noah, Lily and Ella) or they have a lot of spunk (Lachlan). GL.

In everyone’s opinion would it be bad to just go with Evie as a first name? If we did this her middle name would be Catherine (which is Matt’s mom’s middle name)I really love Evie. I think it is very cute and really pretty and suits a little girl really well. I do worry about growing up and being called Evie, but i guess she could shorten it to Eve then?
Thoughts?

I think Evie is okay on it’s own. What about the name Evangeline with the nickname Evie?
posted by guest :: 11 years ago | report
Are you pronouncing Evie like E-vE or eh-vE?

Best:

Abigael
Everleigh

Finn
Liam

Ee-Vee. When I picture us with a little girl she fits the name perfectly. We both have super blue eyes and were very blonde children. I feel like our child will be the same, and Evie just works so well for that. And the name itself is just perfect to me. I just don;t want to name her something she will hate in 15-20 years!!!

I think Evie will age well. It’s quite a popular name in England now (not sure where you’re from), so I say go with Evie. It’s lovely!

You could use the nickname Evie for these names:

Evangeline
Geneva
Guinevere
Keeva

Like any?

Sorry, I don’t like any of those names. I am from Canada. Thanks, we are really leaning toward Evie.

I hate that spelling of Everly. Also Cadence looks better than the K spelling which is very trendy and will get dated. Mackenzie on girls just bugs me because of the meaning...SON OF...also it is the new version of Jessica or Jennifer since there are so many.
Evie is alright on it’s own. Of your boy choices I am not a fan of Hunter or Cohen.

Everyone brings up the Mackenzie "SON OF" but in our baby name book in the Irish heritage it means Child of the wise leader.

Evie Catherine and Liam Matthew
Ava Catherine is also pretty,I think Ava is such a pretty name

My daughter’s middle name is Mackensi....the baby book we had listed the meaning as "beautiful" instead of "son of.....".
