2 syllables vs. does not matter

I keep thinking that because my other 2 childrens names are both 2 syllables, that this babys name should be 2 as well, so that it doesnt feel left out. Maybe thats just me feeling guilty for having another. But what do you think? Does it even matter? Am I being silly?

If it matters to you, then it matters!
I think most mothers like the names to sound good together as a group, too. Syllables play an important part of whether names flow or go together. But I wouldn’t be too strict about it. If you find a middle name you love that is different from the others, go for it.

It doesn’t matter, I don’t think. If they were triplets and you named them like: Lyle, Kyle and Benjamin then I think they’d feel a bit left out. Otherwise, go with whatever you like. Don’t limit yourself or you may never find a name you love.

It’s not silly. Go with your feeling, in years you don’t want to be calling your child something you just can’t stand! If you need any suggestions I will be happy to help!

I don’t think it matters at all. I’m pretty sure the new baby will not have any clue the difference in syllables in their name vs. their siblings. Tell you the truth, I never even thought about it until now. Just make sure you go with a name you love. That’s what really counts. Don’t fret.

I def. don’t think it matters but it would bother me as well. I planned all my girls would have about 2 syllables and the boys will have lonnger names. It’s up to you! If you like a name that’s longer then use it!

Don’t discard a name you really love just because its 1 or 3 syllables. Use names you love now and will love 10, 20, 30 years from now. Your children won’t care that all their names are completely matching. I’m one of 3 and two of us have 2 syllable names, only 1 has a 3 syllable name. Makes no difference whatsoever

I like to pay attention to syllables to make sure the flow of the name is smooth, not choppy or a tongue twister. If the two syllable names of your other children flow well with their middle names and your last name, then it would make sense that a two syllable name would work well for your next child.

I think the overall style of the the names blending together matters more than the syllables.
