Rainer Mitchel vs. Rutter Mason

We are having a really hard time picking a name for our third boy. We really like ’R’ names this time around and have narrowed it down to these two choices that we like but aren’t in love with. Any Suggestions are greatly appreciated! Our other children are Thatcher Mikel, and Nikolas Mathew.

I can see you like uncommon names so how about these.

Richter
Ryder

Ripley
Reinder
Roman
Rowley
Roland
Raiden
Rhys

Good luck! Out our choices I picked Rainer although I’m not to fond of it.

Would you pronounce Rainer the German way of Ry-ner or the way it looks Rain-er? I like both ways...this name reminds me of the book The Thorn Birds (it’s pronounced both ways in the book)

I voted for Rainer, it reminds me of rainer Maria Rilke (a German poet). Rutter is too much like ’gutter’ for me, sorry.

We would pronounce it Rain-er.

I really like Raiden (Ray-den). My husband also likes it but hes still hooked on Rutter and the love Rainer. Im now pregnant with a Rainer and a Rutter because they have made their choice and have named it. haha

They may have found something they like but im not in love with either of them so im still looking.

Oops, my bad. RMR was actually Austrian.

As for Raiden, if you hadn’t clarified the pronunciation I’d have thought it was meant to be said rye-den. How about Rayden spelled like this?

I don’t care for Rutter. Rainer could work.

Don’t care for either, but if I had to choose I’d definitely go with Rainer. Other "R" names you may want to consider:

Rafe
Riley
Rand*
Rhys/Reese
Reed/Reid
Rylan
Rykey
Roald
Reeve*
Rhett
Roane
Rourke*
Ramsey*
Ritt
Rembrandt
Raleigh
Rourke*
Rex
Ross
Ramble
Ritter
The starred names seem to be more your style. Go for something different than Rayden - it sounds like "radon" and besides, it just rhymes with all the trendy Jaydens, Caydens, Aidans, and so on.

Rainer sounds very nice. I agree, its a very positive association with the German poet, Rainer Maria Rilke. Look this poet up, if you don’t know him. (He wrote in the German language, so known as a German poet).

Other R suggestions:

Reece Mason
Reed Garrett
River Gideon
Rudolf Jude
Raven Luke
Roman Mark

Mitchell is nice, which also reminds me of Marshall. Don’t care for Mason as much.
