Sam works because his name is Samuel. Kit is not a nn for Katherine and people won’t know her middle name so it’s just going to be weird. KAT can be a nn for Katherine and if you give her a middle name starting with A the initials would spell out kat.

I like it. But is this a pattern you want to lock yourself into should there be more children down the road? It’s clever, but it might be harder and hard to come up with names you truly love that fit this trend.

Yes, it would be hard. We plan on having two. For a boy, I like Jett Ellis, JET, and Matthew Allent, MAT. However, I have seen Kit/Kitty as a nickname for Katherine many times. I think you might be incorrect.

I love it. I think it’s a really cute idea, and I do know Katharines who goes by Kit. I’ve tried to come up with some myself but I can’t seem to find any I like to go with P.

For a girl so far I have Katherine Ivy- KIT
Katelyn Alice- KAT for a boy, Jett Ellis, JET, and Matthew Allen, MAT. I love the initials ART, but can’t find any cute names with Art as ann.

Kit is very much a nickname for Katherine... back in the day when many, many women were named Katherine there were a lot of different nicknames for it. The Wikipedia entry already posted illustrates that. I think Katherine Ivy is really pretty and Kit is a unique nickname.
