I like the Zooey spelling the best even though people pronounce it zoo-ey. It is still pronounced Zoey. I’m not sure which is more popular but the ZOE reminds me of Elmos friend and the ZOEY reminds me of the show ZOEY 101 on Nickelodeon. ZOEY is probably more popular.

I believe that Zoe is the more popular spelling. I also like this spelling more. The Y makes it look cutesy.

I agree with Ariel. I prefer the "Zoe" spelling, with 2 dots over the e.

I like Zoe it is simple and I believe the original form of the name. Zooey and Zoey also make me think of the word Gooey.

I prefer Zoe. I just named my baby girl Zoe. Almost everyone I’ve met knows how to pronounce it. One of her doctors has repeatedly pronounced it "Zoh" as rhymes with Joe. I’ve corrected him twice now, and the last time he argued that it should be spelled with an umlaut for it to be pronounced Zo-ee. He really irritated me because Zoe is the most common spelling.

’Zoe’ has always been my nickname over the years I have tried and used almost every variation that has been mentioned or even some of my own creation. My personal favorite is ’Zoey’. To me it looks better on paper and to be perfectly honest is the funniest way to write it.

I am almost having the same issue but i want to name my daughter Zoey with the ’y’ but with the ’y’ doesn’t look good with her last name which is Barba. Zoe without the ’y’ looks much better with her last name, Barba. So i cant choose between Zoe Barba versus Zoey Barba. I truly cant decide.

It's Zoƫ - the 2 dots over the e is a 'umlaut' accent, which means you pronounce the e (rather than just saying 'Zo'). However it doesn't really matter if people leave them off when it's written. 'Zoey' is a modern, American, phonetic version of the name - and I agree, it reminds me of 'joey'.

Zoey imo

Zoey is the more popular version imo. My best friend is named Zoe and I sometimes tease her that her name is missing the y. I didn't even know that people spelled it without the y until I met her.
