If you’re going to use Amélie, please spell it correctly. It’s pronounced "AH meh lee".

I’m not too keen on Amalie. I’d pronounce this one as "AM ah lee".

The first one is French and the second is German - thus the different pronunciations.

i haven’t heard amalie but my voice teacher’s daughter’s name is amelie with the accent i believe. and it is exactly as how is pronounced above. these are both fabulous alternatives to the ever so popular emily.

i have heard ahmehLEE with the stress on the lee, and i prefer this to AHmehlee

AHmehlee is the traditional french way, and the best sounding IMO. Plus, the German spelling = "am a lie", which in English, is terrible for a child’s name.
