How vs. To vs. Spell
I need help deciding how to spell our daughter’s (coming next week) name, I have posted before and it is always close. We want her pr. to be My-ah. Don’t like the spelling Maya. Not crazy about Mya either. Have seen Mya, Miah and Miya listed as forms of Mee-ah (Mia). And, Maia, Maya, and Maiah as forms of May-a. We like the look of Myah, Miah and Maia but which one would be pronounced My-ah most? Thanks again.

Mya, Miah, and Miya will all be pronounced MEE -yah.
For MY-ah, I’d use Maya or Maia. Nothing else.
For MY-ah, I’d use Maya or Maia. Nothing else.

They are all pronounced MY-AH. If you’re really concerned about it, just spell it Myah. Stop worrying.

I’d said Maia would get the most people pronouncing it right. I like Maya the best, but my second favorite is Maia. Phonetic spellings are best (we’ve learned that from having most people pronounce my 2-year-olds name as "loo-see-ah"), but in this case most people will recognize Maia as "My-ah." Good luck!
i know a girl name my-ah, spelled maya. everyone pronounces it may-ah, and she gets annoyed by that. i asked her what spelling she would pick if you could have decided, and she love myah and maia. good luck, that is a beautiful name!
