alternatives vs. for vs. harry

my fiance and i are expecting our second child, a little boy. our daughters name is makenna nichole. we want to name our son in honor of my grandfather, harry, who passed away recently. but we dont really like the name. what are some other alternatives? we have heard harrison and kind of like it but we arent really sure yet. any suggestions on another name?

Harold, but I like Harrison a lot, I would go with it...or maybe your grandfather’s mn or last name

my grandfathers middle name was emulis and i just dont like it. my other problem is if we name our son harrison, what would a good nn be? besides harry? lol

maybe you could use harry or harrison for a middle name instead of first. that’s what we plan to do it we have a son... i’m giving him my father’s name as a middle name

our thoughts were to give him whatever alternative for harry as a first name and my maiden name as a middle name.
harrison is really starting to grow on me but i need something to call him while he is little. harrison sounds so grown up to me.

Might also consider Henry. I believe that Harry is a nickname for Henry.

I agree with pp I was also going to say Henry, as Harry is a nn for Henry. I don’t know about this name But Parry is a Welsh name meaning son of Harry ( I’m sure it could be grandson too)
