Oli vs. Ollie vs. other

My son Oliver was born April 28, 2008. Our 2 and a half year old son calls him Oli/Ollie all of the time. I was wondering what spelling of this nick name do you prefer? Any suggestions welcome. We would prefer the most common spelling, I’m just not sure which one that is. Thanks :)

Oli looks too close to oil and might get pronounced Oh-li. I’d go with Ollie. I think calling him Oliver is the best though. I think Oliver is a great name.

ollie... but how often do you need to spell his nickname?

He might spell it alot in his life. I know a girl who goes by Becca, when her real name is Rebecca, and she used to write her full fn on school papers, and now she just writes Becca on them because that’s what everyone calls her, the same with a girl I know named Kate(rn Kaitlyn).

Most teenagers use their nicknames A LOT more than their full fn.
