Sister For vs. Felix and vs. Garrett?

Hi! We are very lost. It was easy naming the first two, boy names are SO easy! But girl names... we don’t know where to start. Just so you know, her name doesn’t have to fit perfectly with Felix and Garrett. We are very open to more unique and exotic names. The only name we really like right now is Simone. We pronounce it sim-own. The i in sim is a short i, not the eye i. Do you think it’s too much like Simon? But anyway, we really only started looking and we could really use suggestions. -Harriet

I think that the name Simone would be a great choice, and you really shouldn’t have too much trouble with people being able to pronounce it. It is Simon plus an -e, but these two names are not alike at all. Some other suggestions are:

Aysel
Corinne
Karla
Gladys
Liesl
Margot
Ivy
Nona
Sienna
Allison
Phoebe
Thora
Ramona
Veronica

Actually, it’s NOT Simon plus and e. It’s pronounced differently. Simon uses the long i sound, Simone uses the short i sound. Simon is sim-on and simone is sim-own. Keep in mind that the i’s have different sounds. See, this is exactly what I was afraid of.-Harriet

Anyway, so far we like Elise, Liesel (I assumed you forgot the e) and Ivy.

I am the commenter that made the comment about Simon plus an E. I was not talking about pronunciation, I was referring to the way it looks when written on a page. The majority of people know how to pronounce Simone correctly. To be honest, people butcher even the simplest, most obvious names.

The -e was not forgotten in Liesl, this is the German spelling of the name, it’s not wrong, there are just variations. Glad you like the name, at least.

Glad you liked my suggestions of Fiona and Isolde although it just hit me that Fiona may sound too much like Felix.

True... but I mean it’s only the Fee begining. Do you think that’s too much of a similarity? -Harriet
