Caraline vs. Caroline

I love the name Caroline...don’t like the "Carol" part in the name at all.... Could I use the spelling Caraline? Of does it look too weird?

She’s going to spend her life correcting the spelling if you spell it Caraline.

I agree with both of these comments. Caraline is cute, but having to spell your name out for folks over the course of a lifetime can get old fast. What about just Cara? Or Clara? Carys? Clarabel?

My name is Sarah, so I wouldn’t want to get too rhymey using just Cara. But I like Carys!

I don’t think it matters if she has to spell her name for people. I have to spell mine all the time and my sons. It really doesn’t bother me. With all the different spellings of names most people probably do have to spell their names for people. I love Caraline.

You can’t assume that everyone is going to be like _you_, though. Why set things up so that if you have a kid who doesn’t like having to correct people all the time, she has to anyway? If you give a kid a normally spelled name and she wants to call attention to herself daily, she can always wear a propeller beanie.
