I think it would make a nice nn for someone whose surname was Hutchins or Hutchinson or something like that, but as a given name I don’t think much of it. It sounds a little bit like the noise a cat makes when trying to work a furball up

Well, Our last name starts with an S and I don’t think it sounds right as Hutchins or Hutchinson, but I see where you’re going with that!

Hutch Jacob is cute. Baby Name Genie suggested Hutch Grady... I really think I like it. Do you?

I think Grady Hutch would be a great name. I prefer it for a middle name. Isn’t a hutch a piece of furniture? I’m not sure about that. gl

Are you saying that you don’t know what a rabbit hutch is? LOL. I grew up in the middle of a city, far from 4-H and FFA, and even I know what a rabbit hutch is.

My son’s name is Hutch. My maiden name is Hutcheson. We think it rocks and he is the coolest kid around. Many compliments on it, and couldn’t imagine him as anything else! Do what feels right for you and don’t worry about anyone else!

My son’s name is Hutch & not because of my maiden name. I have loved that name since childhood & wanted a name I felt would work from childhood to adulthood. The name is unique & I love it of course!

Why not Ottoman, Sofa, Plasma, Frigidaire, seriously people stop naming your children after pieces of furniture for the sake of being unique, your kid may not want to be unique come roll call when he gets to school.

I’m a 32 year old man and my name is Hutch. Have I heard the "Where’s Starsky??" Or something about furniture? Of course.. but I’ve also only encountered one other person named Hutch. The above poster is ridiculous.. I’d much rather be Hutch than a name that thousands of other people share.

My sons name is Hutch William and we absolutely love it he is 2 1/2 and I can’t imagine him having any other name

We named our son Hutton, with Hutch for a nickname. We love it!

Lacey.... How awesome! My name is Hutch William as well. I'm 26. So my parents weren't trying to be hip when naming me. It was a 3rd generation family nickname. Grandpas nickname, then my dad was named Hurst and went by Hutch as a nickname, and finally me as my first name. Hutch William Philpot. I get a ton of compliments on my name! I also get the occasional starsky and Hutch jokes and the furniture jokes. Glad to have it as my name. All starsky and Hutch jokes aside.

I named my son Hutch David! I heard the name Hutch once and LOVED it. David is my dad's name :). If you have any suggestions for girl name's that are unique like Hutch, I would love to hear them!
