names of great women in vs. history

hi, im excepting my first child and its a girl, I want to honor a great women in history because im a total history geek ,and id like to name my daughter after a great women in history , so far I like Amelia after Amelia airheart(hope I spelled that right) and Harriet(not too fond of this name) after Harriet Tubman, so if you guys can think of any great women in history please tell me, ill post a list of the ones I like later, any suggestions?, thanks

The first thing that came to my mind before I finished your poll was Amelia as well! Love her, love the name. Plus there are soooo many wonderful nicknames you can use as well. That’s all I got because everyone else made great suggestions of some of the ones I was thinking of. GL

I’m a history geek too! I have two kids named Elizabeth and Clars but both of those names have already been suggested. I like Amelia, but I’d say for you, to go with women who inspire you, don’t name your child after just anyone in history, but someone that you love.
