Peri vs. Yes vs. No

My wife brought this name to me this morning. She says it’s her favorite name for our daughter. I’m not against it, but I’m not sure. What do you think? Be honest! Any middle names you could suggest would be great. Also, are there any names you can think of for future siblings that go with this name? -George

Peri just sounds so American. It could work with a soft middle name like grace.

There is nothing wrong with American. I don’t really care for Peri. Have you and your wife considered Tori?

Perry is a much better spelling, and honestly, I only like this name on a boy. And it way too nickname-ish.

What about Pearl or Persephone (per-sef-uh-nee) with the nickname Perry?

It may be her favorite name and she may love it, but this is your child too, and you have to love the name too. So if you are unsure about it, then I would ax it and try to find a name you both love.

I agree with the third poster.

No offense but I just don’t think it’s an attractive name. Maybe Penny, Paige, Pippa, Paisley, Eden, Gemma, Heidi, Isla, Jillian, Jovi, Keira, Liesel, Molly, Margo, Nina, Olive, Ruby, Rory, Yvette

Oooh no. Is used as an abbreviation for, and makes me think of, perineum. Sorry!

I like the name, but in my opinion Perrie is a more unique spelling.
