Favorite vs. Short vs. Names

We are expecting our first and we’re looking for short names! Our last name is very long, unusual, and somewhat complicated so we are looking for a short name (two syllables max.) that won’t cause too many issues in school/life. What are some of your favorite short names for both sexes? Thanks for your comments! ~David and Norah

We like Grace, Sophie, Emma, Oscar, and Peyton! We also like Lily, Landon, and Lucas but none of them sound nice with our last name. If you have names that are even shorter (mainly in letters rather than sound) please suggest them as that’s really what we’re looking for!

We really like Jack, Chance, Finn, Flynn, Jude, Graham, Miles, Reid, Rose, Fleur, Maeve, Eve, Niamh, and Pearl! We really hate unisex/boy names for girls (we want a very girly/frilly/feminine name) so from your unisex list we like Rhys and Kai but ONLY for boys.

We really like Niamh, but only the original spelling for it!

I realize how vague we were in the poll about what we like, so I hope this will help. We like short names (sound and letters) that do NOT begin with L and girl names that are VERY girly/frilly/feminine (no unisex names at all for girls)

what is your last name ?? austin david - lily grace - luke david - kelsey hannah - ryan daniel- !!

Mae, Rae, and Kay are very boring and plain to us and don’t really seem like full names, no offense!

I’d rather not post our last name due to privacy issues. We like Lily and Lucas but as we’ve said in a previous comment, they do not sound good with our last name.

Are L names the problem in general, or just Lily & Lucas?

All L names, please see our other comment to somewhat get a better idea of what we like!

We really like Ayla and Rhys! We really like Lila too but because it starts with L, it’s automatically out for us.

I thought I’d share my little boys name, Reis it’s prounced the same as Rhys but we used this spelling because it is a family surname.
posted by guest :: 2013-09-15 00:20:00 | report
We really like Rhys, however that is the only spelling we like for it!
