Names vs. like Rue? vs. Ruth?

What are some names that sound like Rue? We’ve found Ruth, which we like, but are there others? The reason we’re looking for a new name is that we’ve finally finalized our move to Quebec and the name Rue won’t work there. We didn’t change her name right away (she’s just over a year now) and we will likely continue calling her Roo (because she’s very bouncy, like a kangaroo), but we’d like a "proper" name for her to use in public. Ruth is nice, but also not very pronounceable in French. Do you have any ideas? Thanks a bunch!~Leigh

Genie's Mailbag

Emma in Western Australia
We have a boy named Tyler James and a girl named Gypsie Jade. Expecting our 3rd, which is a boy. I'm in love with the name Olly, but my partner thinks Gypsie and Olly are unique names and Tyler is not, so it won't feel right. So he wants an ordinary name. Please help with something unique but ordinary.
Baby Name Genie:
In the space between unique and ordinary is a special category of names I think of as "antiques." They are familiar and well-used names that are not widely in use these days. For your son, I give you Oscar Jude - a perfectly ordinary, unique name.
