Finding out The gender vs. Being surprised
I have two kids already 1 boy (he is about to be 7) and 1 girl (she just turned 5) we are trying for baby #3 we have plenty of names picked out (they are unique and not everyone’s cup of tea) Aurellia Michaela for a girl and D’Atanon Solomon for a boy (we have several others picked out as well) my question is how many of you kept your baby’s gender a secret and if you had to do It over would you find out the sex?

We chose not to find out the gender of our daughter until she was born. I would do exactly the same any time. I love surprises!

I like to find out so I can focus on one name list instead of two and I can buy girl themed stuff for my daughter n boy stuff for my son... I think its surprise enough getting to see what they look like when there born...

I found out with my oldest and youngest. We let the middle two be surprises. I’m glad I found out with the oldest because I was sure he was a girl and it was good that I had time to get used to the idea that he was a boy.
Various circumstances kept us from finding out with the middle two and that was no problem. In fact, I didn’t even check my third child’s gender after she was born until the midwife prompted me. It just wasn’t that important right then when I was so ecstatic that she was born and how awesome a baby she was. I really didn’t care if she was male or female.
We knew our 4th might be our last so I really wanted to know that time. Though it would have been just fine if we hadn’t.
