What type of name? vs. Unisex? vs. Girly?
10 years ago, at 24, my husband and I had a girl and both agreed that we would only have one child so, we used the name we loved, Spenser Nicole. Now, 10 years later, I'm pregnant and it's another girl. This wasn’t exactly planned but we believe that it is a blessing but, now we have to find a name! We've been considering using another unisex name to match her sister, because we will be making sure that she is our last child. But, is unisex the only option? What type of names could we go with? We are open to consider almost anything. Thanks! Jacob, Melissa and Spenser (10).
The Top Baby Name is...
Honestly, I don’t think a unisex name would go either. It would have to be another boys name, if you want to stick to a theme.
However, I think you can also make a different theme, such as another S name or another ending in -er. That way you can use a girl name but not make her sister feel left out.
Have you discussed this with Spenser? Would it bother her if her baby sister had a girlie name? Does she like her unisex name or have any suggestions for a little sister?
I would do another unisex name.
I think it would be much better not to use a unisex name this time. Names I like with Spenser: Reese, Liv, Jenny, Perry, Kenley, Maghan.
Yes we have discussed it. She is a very mature young lady and has told us many times that she loves all types of names and she will be a big part in choosing the final name. This is just the beginning for us. Hopefully we can get a wide range and narrow them down as a whole family.
Just talking the suggestions, we do like the sounds of Taylor, Morgan, and Jenny!
Just go with a name you love, regardless of whether it’s unisex or not!
Mackenzie is nice as well as Jordin!
We now have a starting list!
I love the name Blake for a girl!
you have a chance to do it right this time and give your daughter an actual girls name, so do it right, the boys names on girls thing is SOOOOO boring
We don`t really like Blake! Thanks anyway!
To the poster telling us to "do it right this time", Spenser loves her name and so do we and I`m sure that it all that matters. Your post was a little rude and I hope you don`t post like this on other polls.
The only one on your list I don’t like is Jordin. Good luck!
Maybe you could get both girly and unisex. A name like Alexandra has the girly option of the full name and the unisex option of the nickname Alex.
Samantha or Samara - Sam or Sammy
Charlotte or Charlize - Charlie
Martina - Marty
Josephine - Jo or Joey
Georgia or Georgiana - George or Georgie
Philippa - Phil or Flip
Luciana - Luke
Alanna - Al or Alan
Here are my suggestions for you:
Hope you like them & good luck!
Spencer is not a unisex name, its a total boys name.
