Mercedes vs. Melody

We’re finally down to two names! Melody or Mercedes. Our other children are fair , blonde and light eyes. This baby will prob be the same. I like different names. Don’t know anyone with either name to associate it with. Thanks for your help !

Mercedes is lovely. Unfortunately there is a poster on this site called Mercedes who likes to make inflammatory remarks, so lots of the people here have a negative reaction to the name.

I know a 14 year old girl in real life named Mercedes, though, and it’s an awesome name on her. So I’m inclined to really like it.

LOVE Melody. So pretty!

Not a fan of Mercedes, it just seems very 80s to me. (My association is Mercedes Lane from License to Drive. And, yes, I realize I am absolutely dating myself!)

Melody is boring and WAY overused. Mercedes is GORGEOUS!!! Old fashioned and exotic. It’s like an exotic name of the Victorian times :)

I prefer Mercedes, but I like both. Mercedes is the more unusual choice.

Its trashy to name your child after a car so id go with Melody its beautiful and has a lovely French charm to it.

Makes no difference as most people if asked would immediately think of the car brand.
