Hello, Stacia here! My mother and I were discussing names for my daughter due January, and when I mentioned that I love Avalon she said it was too "out there" what do you think? I happen to think Avalon is cute especially with the nickname Ava! But what are your honest opinions on it, and if not Avalon could you suggests others? And middle names! -Stacia

I love Avalon the name itself has beautiful history and it is girly and uncommon both major pluses in my book. I like it way more than just Ava alone but it is perfect for her nickname. Older generations usually aren’t keen on more adventurous names but they come around once they have their beautiful grandbaby’s face to go along with it. I went through the same with my grandparents but they grow to love it. GL

It does bring to mind a fairy or something of that sort doesn’t it? And I do realize that older generations aren’t really on the same naming style as most of us are but I really do want to please my mother with my daughter’s name and she will be helping take care of her. -Stacia.

I think it’s okay, it’s unusual but not too much if that makes sense. I think the nickname Ava is cute.
If you like it, go for it. I wouldn’t worry about your mom’s point of view, she will learn to love the name as soon as she meets her granddaughter! Good luck
