Baby Name Poll Results
Names With vs. Similar Style vs. To Darcy
I know I pretty much just posted, and I apologize but even with people saying Darcy is nice I just can’t get myself to love it! Since I don’t want to shoot down my boyfriend completely, I’m looking for non unisex names that are kind of similar in style with Darcy. Do you have any ideas? Anne is going to be used as a middle name! Thanks and sorry if I seem picky or rude in any of my comments!
The Top Baby Name is...
I like Daisy! Please remember that I do not want unisex names, thanks!
Like any? -Jane
I like Amelia and Poppy! My one drawback to Amelia, Poppy, and Daisy is that they’re all pretty popular where we live. Also, please remember that I do not want unisex names, I’m very picky about that so please do not suggest anything that could be considered unisex (for example names like Aubrey, names ending in Son, Cassidy, Morgan, etc.)
Phoebe Anne!!! but if not that how about one of these?
I like Lila and Charlotte but Charlotte is pretty popular where we live so I’m not so sure about it right now
I like Ruby and Lily but they’re both really popular where we live so I’m a bit hesitant. Please, please remember that I have specifically asked for NO unisex names!
do you like any of those? I tried not to put any unisex...its just so hard nowadays
Daisy, Amelia, Poppy, Lila, Charlotte...
I like Isla, Ruby, Alice, Lucy, and Dahlia! However with the exception of Dahlia, all of them are pretty popular where we live which makes me a bit nervous
I like Freya though it is fairly popular too! Should I just forget anything about the popularity of the names or could it have some importance?
I didn’t see the first poll. I’m assuming your problem with Darcy is that it’s unisex?
Do you want a name similar in sound to Darcy because I’m not sure you’re going to find one that’s similar in style without it being unisex/surnamey.
I’m so sorry to be picky but this one thing catches my eye...
So you said you wanted to name your kid Darcey Anne. Correct? It is just a little weird that Harry Styles (A singer in a popular boys band listened to by teens) wants to name his first daughter Darcey Ann Styles. If that is all your doing on this site...I suggest you stop playing around. If this is TRULY what you wants to name your child...I suggest Demi Anne...Darby Anne...or Darla Anne.
Yes, that is my main problem with Darcy; that and I’m just not a fan of the sound.
I’m not totally sure how to express what I’m looking for; it doesn’t have to sound like Darcy but something with a similar feel? I know that probably doesn’t clear anything up, I’m sorry! I truly do not know how to express what I’m trying to get at. I do like Delilah, Rosie, and Thalia! Though Rosie seems a bit too cutesy for an adult to me, so I’m not too sure about that one
I don’t like any of those, sorry guest! Please, PLEASE remember that I do not want ANY unisex names!
If you like a name I wouldn’t worry about its popularity, unless its in the top 10-15 of course.
Many of the names that have been suggested that I do like are in the top 20 or so; some of them even being in the top 5; would that be a problem?
Madison Anne / Maddie Anne
What about Darby? I absolutely love that name! Its not popular...yet it has a fresh feel to it! Darby Anne is BEAUTIFUL!
Please, please, please, I’ve said this many times now; I do NOT WANT UNISEX NAMES! I’m sorry if I sound rude but that is the ONE thing I do not want! I do like Louise, Alice, and Millie though popularity once again is making me hesitant.
Popularity wouldn’t be a concern if you LOVED a name and you’d regret not using it. That doesn’t seem to be the case with any of those, though.
I know a Rosie who is 20, although we’re Scottish and names like Rosie and Maisie and Archie, etc. are more normal in the UK than they are in the US. Americans are definitely more formal with names.
Can you express what Darcy "feels" like to you? Is it charming? Is it fit for a ballerina? Is it tomboy? Is it smart? etc.
Darby is a unisex name which I have specifically said many, many times now I do not want!
who cares how popular a name is? as long as you and your husband like it what does it matter what anybody else thinks? don’t not use a beautiful name just cause you hear it a lot. it must mean that its a perfect name
Popularity doesn’t matter, I don’t think. As long as you love a name, what’s it really matter? I like Millie Anne best. It’s pretty adorable. You could also make it stand-out more by frequently calling her by both names.
HARPER ANNE! :)
A few of them do worry me though as I know my boyfriend will probably not want anything in the top 10 or so; so I will probably go back through the names and eliminate those before I show him the list.
I know that Rosie and other -ie names are common and normal as we live in the UK (though I am from America) but it just doesn’t seem fit as a full name to me. I like Penelope but it is a name that we can’t use. I don’t know how to describe the feel either; I feel so useless about that I’m sorry! I guess it has a tomboy feel, which I don’t like, mixed with a fresh (?) feel?
Harper is a unisex name, I do NOT want unisex names! Please respect the fact that that is probably the only thing I do not want and please stop giving unisex name suggestions
woah don’t suggest Harper. it may be too unisex
I’m not sure if that is meant to be sarcastic (as you can never tell over the internet) but if it is so, please do not be rude. I know some like unisex names but I despise them which is why I already feel bad about not being able to love Darcy which is the only name my boyfriend loves
HAILEY ANNE! :)
***Its not unisex is it? Plus it sounds great!
Hailey is dated to me, sorry guest!
Rosalie Anne (nn Rosie)
Esmaya Anne (My friends cousin came up with this because she couldn’t use Esmae but I think its really pretty)
I like Luna and Lydia! I have a male cousin named Remi, so I would never consider that for a girl
Stacey (I think this goes perfect with Anne!)
***I do not believe any of these are unisex
Stacey is actually unisex and I don’t like any of the other names, sorry guest!
Felicity is kind of growing on me!
I like Helen my only hesitation is about the flow of "Helen Anne"!
I noticed in one of your earlier comments you said you like louise but thought it was too popular. so how about:
Louise isn’t actually that popular here, sorry I should’ve been more specific with that comment! But I do like Louisa, Eloise is nice too but we can’t use it
***I’m absolutely sure none of these are unisex...I made sure they were very feminine...
•Or what about just plain old Sally?
Like any of these? I tried my best not to put any unisex names in there lol its so hard because people are starting to make everything unisex.
I like Viviana! I like Penelope too but we can’t use it. Tiffany, Stephanie, Jessica, and Sally are a little too dated to me and I’m just not a fan of Sophia; sorry guest!
Louise Anne is a perfect name. Its cute for a little child but also ages well into a beautiful and mature adults name. it also flows really well and looks good written down. but that’s just my opinion. what do you think?
I like Tallulah, Alessandra, and Felicity is continuing to grow on me!
*** More decently feminine names...
Julie (Julie Anne has a nice flow)
Louise is definitely on my list! I don’t want to make any final decisions because I do want my boyfriend to feel like he was a part of naming our baby. I’m putting all the suggestions that I like into a list that I plan on showing him (and praying he likes one or a few from the list)
I like Celia! Harlow is a unisex name (and the name of a friend of mine’s dog) which I do not want
I missed a comment, I’m terribly sorry about that! I like Violet!
How about Alice Anne? If you want a really girly, cute, sweet, feminine classic, fresh and elegant go with Alice!
im not sure if this name is unisex or not (sorry if it is) but taking inspiration from the website what about Genie Anne? I think its pretty and it would not be popular at all
Alice has been suggested a few times, and is on the list; my hesitation is that it is fairly popular here. I like Clara and Juliet; as well as Rose but Rose Anne seems very silly to me. I do like the idea of Rosie or Rose as a nickname but I really don’t like Rosalie
I don’t like the sound of Genie at all and for some reason it makes me think of the Disney movie Aladdin, sorry guest!
I don’t like the name Bonnie, sorry guest!
what about Rosemary Anne (nn Rosie or Rose)
I am really astounded and very thankful of all the comments! I have a pretty long list (24 names or so) that I plan on maybe sorting through myself and showing them to my boyfriend. If you do have other suggestions, feel free to leave them in a comment!
I don’t like Rosemary either as a full name, sorry guest!
Lucy, Luna, Amelia, and Charlotte are on my list; but I also like Valentina!
I like Niamh and Tallulah! Bronte is too unisex to me and while I don’t mind Maxine I don’t like the boy nickname "Max"
Rosabell (goes perfect with Anne)
sorry I didn’t realise bronte was unisex
I like Rosalind! Rosa is also growing on me! I realize I probably hold a higher standard to unisex names; most names people don’t even think of unisex (that usually are) I do
Is Perrie unisex? if not then Perrie Anne is nice.
I also Like Kimberley Anne, Lexi Anne, Kirsty Anne, Samantha Anne (although nicknames Sam and Sammy are unisex so you might not like it)
Theresa Anne, Jacqueline Anne, Amelie Anne
have you ever thought of using a double barrel first name. in my opinion if you used Darcy-Anne as a full first name then it sounds much girlier. or maybe Darla-Anne or just Darla as a first name
Perrie is a different spelling of boy name Perry, so I’m pretty sure it’s unisex. I don’t like unisex names either. How about Rosamund nn Rosie? Or Francesca, Seraphina, Georgina, Levina, or Mirabelle?
Perrie is unisex as it is a spelling for Perry. I do like Amelie and Rosamund!
A double first name wouldn’t do much to make me like Darcy. Anne is after my mother so I don’t want to use it as our baby’s first name and I dislike the look of double middle names and I don’t like Darla, sorry guest!
