I extremely dislike it. I don’t think it sounds remotely cute or feminine. It sounds a little silly to be honest. I think you could do better than Ridley for your daughter.

Hate it.

NO! I see lots of teasing when she reaches school age. Consider Riley if want same pattern

Eh, I like it for a boy. But even that is really only for the Metroid association. (Ridley is the skeletal-dragonlike archenemy of Samus Aran) But for a girl? Eh...I don’t think I’d do that. It sounds harsh and frankly unfeminine.

I posted earlier on Ridley as my husband and I compromised on it. It was the Ridley Flora vs Ridley Caoimhe poll however now we have quite a list of names we love to go with it. My husband is in love with it for our little girl and I am ok with it as long as she goes by her full name which is why the middle name is so important to me. Ridley Valentine is my favorite. GL

I like it! You can use a girly middle name if you feel that it’s "unfeminine" as some of the above commenters said. Go for it!

Maybe you should save it for a boy. It doesn’t seem very nice for a girl.

Yeah, I never understood the mindset of "Give her a girly middle name to rectify her unfeminine first name." Her first name is still what will be used in roll calls, applications, and other such things. She’ll still be frequently mistaken for a boy. Only if you give her a double first name would that really work, but I don’t think even a double first name could help Ridley. I know that a whole slew of boys names have been used on girls lately, but this one, in my opinion, really couldn’t work. It has a heavy and somewhat unattractive vibe that I don’t even really care for on a boy, so on a girl it’s just very off-putting. My apologies, but that’s just really how I feel!

It is the name of a beautiful and posh character in the YA novel Beautiful Creatures. It is spunky and I think it is unisex not just male. The LEY sounds femme. Id use it, I really like it! GL

...Then I guess Wesley, Ackerley, Bentley, and Quigley are all unisex too. Just because one character had it in a supernatural romance book, that does not mean it’s unisex. That just mean that character has a boy’s name.

I don’t like it. I think it could lead to teasing.

Ridley in Beautiful Creatures was also a "bad guy" character most of the time......

In 2014 Bad is the new "good". Elsa is the "Bad" Ice Queen in Frozen and everyone isn’t turning it down because of that. Also what about Riley, Tristan, and Whitley? All are used on females without a second look, Ridley is no different than them. It is beautiful.

I LOVE Ridley for a girl!!! Very cute and when paired with a feminine middle name, beautiful!
