Genevieve (Gen, Genny)

We like Josephine (Josie; Jo(e)/Joey aren’t girl names to us) and Evie as a nickname but we don’t like Evelyn or Evangeline. I think Wilhelmina is gorgeous but my husband finds it to be a bit much

I love names that are fun, like "Candy Cane."
We like Eleanor (Ellie/Ella), Elizabeth (we like a bunch of nicknames for this), Helena (prefer Helena to Helen; Ellie), and Josephine (Josie; as said, we don’t like Jo(e)/Joey for a girl). We like Evie as a nickname but not Evelyn and we like Della but we can’t use Madeline/Madeleine/Madelyn
We like Emmeline/Emilia (Emmy/Milly), Genevieve (Evie), Helena (Ellie; don’t like Lena or Leni), Imogen (Immy; don’t like Mimi or Gina), Penelope (Ellie/Lola), Helena (Ellie; don’t like Nell), Eleanor (Ellie/Ella), and Elizabeth (like a bunch of nicknames).
We don’t like fun names like that, sorry Agent M. We find it extremely tacky and not something we want to do to our daughter since that would cause teasing.
Hope this will help to eliminate repeats; PLEASE READ! This is our list:
Elizabeth (we like many nicknames)
We like Penelope (Ellie/Lola; not a fan of Penny), Lilliana (Lily/Lilly), and we like Evie but as said before, we don’t like Evelyn or Evangeline. Forgot to put in our last comment but we like the nickname Della but can’t use the suggested full name (Madeline/Madeleine/Madelyn)
Matilda nn Tilda/Tilly?
We like Cordelia, Aurelia, and Violet but have an issue with each of them. We like the nickname "Delia" from Cordelia but we don’t like alliteration so Cordelia Cane bothers us, any other full names for Delia? Aurelia and Violet don’t give us nickname options (or at least ones we like) which is a problem since that is what we want
We like Matilda but not keen on Tilda/Tilly and we can’t use "Mattie/Maddie" as a very close friend of ours has a daughter named Maddie
Eleanor is becoming quite trendy, as is Ellie as an independent name. Ella’s been popular for a while. Just a warning if you’re worried about popularity. Same with Penelope, Charlotte and Lillian.
I adore Elizabeth- I’d love to know what nicknames you’re considering!
My favorites besides Elizabeth are Josephine "Josie", Emmeline "Emmy", and Genevieve "Evie"
How about Delaney or Adella for the nickname Della?
judith- judy- cynthia -cindy- danielle- danie- deborah- debbie- sandra- sandy- hailey- kathryn- kate- brianna- bree- adelaide- heidi- allison- allie- amelia amy- aurelia- barbara- barb- lorraine- lorrie- christine- chris- bethany- beth- cassandra- cassie-
Popularity doesn’t bother us; we’re just more concerned about loving the name. For Elizabeth we like Ellie, Ella, Eliza, Lily/Lilly, and Elsie.
Delaney doesn’t have that girly, classic/old fashioned feeling we are looking for and Adella sounds kind of strange to us sorry!
We like Amelia (not sure on what nickname though). We also think Aurelia and Valentina are nice but we don’t like any nicknames for them so we wouldn’t use them
We like Ophelia but can’t think of any nicknames we like for it (don’t like Lia, Fee, Fea/Fia)
Estelle or Estella
Cecelia nn Celia or CeCe
We don’t like Estelle/Estella or Cecelia, sorry!
Miriam nn Mimi
Minerva nn Minnie
Here’s an updated list!
Amelia (Mia? Still not sure)
“Della” (can’t use Madeline/Madeleine/Madelyn, don’t like Delaney or Adella)
“Delia” (can’t use Cordelia)
Some longer names we like but can’t find nicknames we like are:
Matilda (not loving Tilda/Tilly and can’t use Mattie/Maddie)
Aurelia (don’t like Lia and Aurie is a little weird to us)
Ophelia (dislike Lia, Fee, Fea/Fia)
Violet (don’t like Vi)
Valentina (don’t like Val/Vallie, Tina)
We don’t like any from the list beginning with Miriam, sorry!
We like Aurora but don’t like Rory and can’t think of any other nicknames and Lydia is nice too but we can’ think of any nicknames for that
Rory or Aura for Aurelia
Phelia for Ophelia
Liddy for Lydia
I think Amelia nn Mellie is so cute! Milly is also nice. Out of the names you like my favorites are Lillian (Lily), Emmeline/Emilia (Emmy), Elizabeth (Ella), and Charlotte (Lottie). Good luck!
We don’t like Rory (too unisex), Aura (too weird to us), or Phelia (sounds weird), sorry!!
We don’t find Liddy or Mellie cute, sorry! Would Milly work as a nickname for Amelia? Also which spelling do you think is better, Milly or Millie?
Coralie? Cora is a cute nickname for it and I think it sounds really vintage!
Millie is a better spelling
We don’t like alliteration so Cora/Coralie Cane doesn’t sound nice to us, sorry!
I know you’re worried about alliteration but Coralie Crane sounds great
What about the nickname Lettie for Violet? I love that name!
We don’t like alliteration of any kind, sorry! If it begins with that sound, we both know that we won’t want to use it
Hadn’t thought of Lettie! Thanks, we’ll add that to the list!
Our youngest daughter is named Eleanor Grace after my late aunt. We call her Ellie and she loves her name. It appears to me you are leaning toward a name that allows for the nick-name Ellie...it gets my vote;)
Haha, looking at the list it does appear that way! We like it with our sons names (we have two little boys, so I’m thrilled to be having a girl!)
All of these names suck. You are going to ruin your child.
If you don’t like our style, that’s fine. But you do not need to be rude about it. If you don’t like our style then please simply move on from our poll rather than making unproductive comments. Thanks!
patricia - pat patsy- laura- lori kristin-kris-beverly bev- virginia ginny- valentina verlie- theresa- tessa- lindsay lin- grace- gracie- rachel- rae- !!
We like Valentina but we still don’t like any of the nicknames for it, sorry!
I don’t think you are ready to be parents either.
Sorry you feel that way; but this is a naming poll, not a place for you to judge us when you don’t know us.
