Sadie vs. vs vs. Full Name

I love the name Sadie, but I’m not sure how well it will age. I’ve thought about Sarah with the nickname Sadie, but I don’t love Sarah. Any other ideas for a name with Sadie as the nickname, or is Sadie ok on its own?

Sadie ages fine. There are lots of old women with this name. It is as adorable on a child as it is on a woman of 60.

I’ve heard of Sadie for Sahara (as kind of a derivative of Sarah).

I knew a Samantha Diane who went by Sadie. It’s kind of out there though. Sadie is perfect on it’s own too!

Actually, until recently, I always thought of Sadie as an older person’s name because it was used many, many years ago as a nickname for Sarah. But, like lots of other vintage names, Sadie has become fresh again. I do now find it adorable for a young girl, but I can still easily see it on an older woman as well.

I love the name Sadie and I think it’s perfectly acceptable as a given name just the way it is!

Hate nicknames as stand alones they seem so weak and pointless, Sadie is and always has been the nn for Sarah
