Is it okay? vs. What do you think?

We’re having twin girls in mid to late March, and we recently told friends and family that we had decided that their first names would be Brooke _____(?) and Rebekah Laurel and that we liked Bekah as a sometimes nickname for Rebekah. One of my friends briefly mentioned she thought it weird that one would get a nickname and the other wouldn’t. I dismissed it at the time (and she didn’t press it, so this isn’t "her fault"), but now I can’t stop thinking about it. *Is* it weird? Also, we’re still on the hunt for a middle name for Brooke. All ideas welcome (no boy names though!). Thanks so much, Heather

I think it’s cool because they will be called Brooke and Beckah

I think maybe it would be a little off being as they are twins. I would consider naming them Brooklyn and Rebekah and then use Brooke and Bekah as nicknames.

We don’t like Brooklyn. Too trendy for us. I was thinking, what about Brookie for a sometimes nickname.

I don’t think it is an issue, but I suppose siblings will always find things to fight about. I, frankly, just like Bekah. Could you just stick to Brooke and Bekah, or is Rebekah essential?

We LOVE Rebekah. Definitely want that to be her full name.

Nicknames can come from ANYWHERE! doesn’t exactly have to stem from the name- you can call her buggy if need be
