Read vs. Below

I posted earlier wanting to know others opinions of using family surnames for children and using a family surname for a girl. We’re expecting a girl but we plan on having more children so some of the names would definitely be used for a boy. I will post a list of a few names in the comments, please tell us if any would work for a girl. Thank you, Adeline

We like these four for a girl:

Whitley-my maiden name
Jamison-my mother in laws maiden name
Massey-my mothers maiden name
McKinney-my husbands paternal grandmothers maiden name

Others on our girl list:

Whitley and Jamison could be used for a boy no problem.

I think McKinney could work, as could Jennings (sounds close to Jenny) and Connelly (I think Connie is a cute nn)

Oh wait sorry I just read through the whole description lol...again, Whitley or Jamison could work for a girl too. And for either gender you could use Whit or Jamie as a nickname.

We want to know if any could work for a girl, not a boy.

Massey would be perfect for a girl! McKinney works as well- it’s very similar to Mackenzie, which is an established name. :) And I actually know a girl named Connelly, so that definitely works!
Jamison is more masculine, as is Jennings. Kennington and Whitley and Traeger don’t really strike me as names.

I think these could:

McKinney would join all the other ’mac’ names being used for girls, so no one would think twice about it.
Jamison is a boy name, please don’t do that one for a girl.

I Think for a girl McKinney would work best. Also Jennings (Jenny could be a nn) & Connelly could also work.

I would Save Jamison & Kennington (NN Could be Ken or Kenny) for a boy
