Tomboyish vs. Girly
I was talking to my niece about names for my baby (female), and she said to think of a more tomboyish name like Carter or Hadley. Is that a good or bad idea? Name suggestion appreciated.

I love boy names for girls believe it or not I actually like the name Adam for a girl more than I like it for a girl.
I personally like unisex names....some suggestions....
I wouldn’t do boy names. What about the following names that give you nicknames for both boy or girl?
Charlotte/Charlene nn Charlie
Samantha nn Sammy
Danielle nn Dani
Victoria nn Tori
for a boy whoops*
Carter is an awful name on a girl. Hadley is feminine in my opinion though.
I love unisex names! My faves are:
I have a boy name and I am a girl and I hate it so I would certainly go for a girly name.
I love unisex names on girls. I think it gives them a little bit of an edge. I’m on the fence about Carter. It’s still a little too masculine for me, but it wouldn’t be awful. Hadley is very feminine for me, but I do love it.
Emery/Emory (don’t like Emerson)
Wow thanks everyone! I love all these names so much!!
I’ve picked out 3 I like the best:
Bad idea. I’m not a fan of boy names on girls at all. I think it sounds like the parents were hoping for a boy and were so disappointed with their girl they couldn’t be bothered to choose a different name. I say that because my friend grew up with two older sisters with very feminine names but she was last and called Tyler. She really resents her masculine name and chooses to go by Tilly instead.
Honestly its a terrible idea and they do not age well either.
