Olivia, Lauren & Claire vs. Katelyn, Emma and Taylor

After years of trying to get pregnant, my husband and I have just found out we are expecting triplet girls. This has special meaning for us, as my husband had triplet sisters who died shortly after birth. My husband and mother in law are both desperate to name our girls after his late sisters. Whilst I like their names (Olivia, Lauren and Claire), it doesnt seem right to me use these names as first names. I have suggested to my husband that we use them as middle names, and use three names we both love as their first names - Katelyn Olivia, Emma Lauren and Taylor Claire. What do you think is the right thing to do? Please help!

I think the idea of having his sisters’ names as middle names for the girls is a great idea. I think Katelyn Olivia, Emma Lauren, and Taylor Claire all sound pretty. Congrats on the little ones, wishing you the best :)

They are your babies, choose names that you and your husband both love. If u want to use them as middle names, that’s fine, but don’t feel obligated. :) congrats

Congratulations on triplets. I feel you should use the names of the first set of triplets as middle names. This way you are in memory of the past sisters, while giving your girls a name of their own. God bless you and your babies.

agree - they should be middle to honor them not first names...
