Gabyan Clark vs. Gabian Clark vs. Gabbion Clark

We have decided on a unique name for our little man. We want it to be pronounced Gab-Ee-In. Which spelling works best? The middle name Clark stays. He is joining two big sisters, Iya Jane (7) and Bea Rose (4). This will be our last. Thanks! -Sara, Tom, Iya, Bea, and Baby Boy Dawson.

I don’t think your son will like having the potential nn Gabby. And Gabbion Dawson doesn’t flow very well.

If you want it said [removed]-bee-an, then I’d spell it Gabian. I also think this is an actual name...Irish, perhaps? The other two look odd IMO.

Oh c’mon, really? It blots out [removed]? Well, in other words, the name would start like Gabriel and end like Gideon.

I wouldn’t go with Gabyan because it makes me think "Gabby Ann". I would pronounce "Gabbion" as "Gab-E-on". So, I would go with "Gabian" for the pronunciation that you want.

So you want it said like Gabby-un? I guess Gabbion, then.

Personally, though, I think Gabian "gabe-ee-un" sounds better. It’s the name of a street near here and I like the sound of it.
