Ideas? vs. Ideas?
Several years ago, I was working at a summer camp when I briefly met a girl camper named Remmy/Remmi (no idea how it was spelled). I thought it was beautiful and wondered what it was short for, but I never got the chance to ask her. What longer girl names could Remmy/Remmi be short for? Any ideas at all?
The Top Baby Name is...
Ramona. And for some reason I think Carmela could work?
Remington or Ramona
Dislike Carmela and Remember, and Remington is all-boy to me. Ramona is okay, and I kind of like Drema. Thanks.
I can’t see Remmy/Remmi being a nickname for Rosemarie or Rosemary. Too far-fetching for me. I don’t like the name Romilly. Thanks.
I like Rema. Thanks.
Remy is a male French name.... I gave a hamster the name Remy... Also a guy I use to go to school with was named Remy and the Rat in Ratatouille is named Remy. Just because you heard a girl with that name does not make it feminine. Geez.
Go with similar feminine names, but leave Remy for the guys. Ramona, Romilly, Romola....
Maybe it wasn’t short for anything? Maybe that was actually her full name. It could also have been short for a last name. I knew a guy who got called Remmy, and it was a nickname from his last name which was Remington). His first name was Clayton.
Whenever I hear Remy, I think of Remy (aka Gambit) in the X-Men who is very much a guy.
I didn’t say I was going to use it. Just wondering what it could have been short for.
I don’t like Remigia.
I don’t see anything wrong with Remi as a nickname for a girl, like Charlie for Charlotte or Sam for Samantha etc.
Remina? or Remelle?
Heh, Remedy is all I can think of.
The only thing that I know Remi is short for for a girl is Remember. For a boy it can be Remington.
