Isaac - Yes vs. Isaac - No

I have loved the name Isaac since I was a little girl and have planned on naming my son this for years. My husband and I are now pregnant with a boy and we both still love and want to use the name. The only problem is that I have a four year old cousin named Isaac. Is this too close of a relation to use the same name? The boys will know each other and see each other at family functions and events on a semi-regular basis. Thank you for your help and/or suggestions! Jen

Could your Isaac’s nickname be Zak? Then at family functions there would be Isaac and Zak?

Its a beautiful name, ’laughter’, and the long awaited child of Sarah and Abraham.

How about Isaiah? It’s similar, but not exactly the same!
