Does this vs. Work?

Our kids are all blue eyed and blond haired so this baby girl will most likely be as well. I have a name I love but anytime I tell anyone they tell me I can’t name her that because it wouldn’t fit for a blond girl. I love the name Egypt! I don’t really see a problem but the few I’ve told say no way. Siblings are Archer, Gavin and Esme. She is our last baby.

Not flattering at all. Nor does it fit with your other children’s names.

No, I dont think so. Do you want to name her after a country or do you just like Egypt? Let us know if you would like suggestions.

well, because when one hears the word Egypt, they think middle east and tan people with dark hair. I think the same with India... but if its a name you like go for it. I will say it doesn’t really fit with the names of your other children - being a place.

Naming a child Egypt is exactly the same as naming them Dakota, Dallas, Austin, Paris, China, etc., so I don’t see anything wrong with it.

That aside, I don’t think it sounds very pretty. But if you love it, that is what matters. Something that always helped us was asking ourselves if we could live with the name ourselves (i.e. would you want it as your name?).

Hope that helps.

Thanks. Suggestions are good so go ahead. Maybe I just can’t see past this name. I’ve heard a few people named Egypt, I just like the sound and that its different. -poster

Thanks, maybe Genevieve or Ireland, but I still like Egypt slightly better. Gives me other options though. -Poster.

i can kinda see it working on a girl with that colouring, i like names that are different, and it sounds cool with her siblings names.

I kind of agree. I can’t picture a blonde child named Egypt. I also don’t think it goes well with any of your other kids’ names. Not to mention it’s not that pretty.
