Traditionally, it was a boy name. It is trendy to use it for a girl now. I like the spelling Emery the best.

ITs unisex. Myself personally, i find it too soft for a boy, and too plain for a girl

It seems more masculine to me but I know people also use it for girls.

Both spellings are more popular on girls (though Emory has a much narrower margin) and both spellings are rising in popularity for both genders. Emery is more common for both genders.
