Ive always liked it...reminds me of my librarian in elementary school...also reminds me of Sylvia Plath...love her poetry. Sylvia sounds smart and sophisticated to me plus Sylvie is a cute nick name.

Nothing wrong with the name. But it seems dated to the mid-century though. If you don’t like popular names, this might be a good one.

I like it. I am a nut for Shakespearean characters and Silvia is a mistress in "Two Gentlemen of Verona".

I love Sylvia. It’s not that far off from Isabella, Sophia, Gabriella, etc. I’m suprised it hasn’t caught on quicker.

ever hear of the baby name wizard?? look on the website. the woman who writes it is a ’baby name wizard’. SHE predicts Sylvie is the next Sophie.
