Is vs. Leighton vs. too masculine?
My husband and I fell in love with the name Leighton but are worried it sounds like a boy name. It is pronounced like Layton. Her middle name would be Isabelle. Any other middle names are welcomed. Thanks.

I personaly think it sounds more like a boy name but if you like it keep it
Leighton is a very pretty name. I had never heard of it until Leighton Meester came around. I think Isabelle works eloquently with it.
My name is Leighton and I’ve never Been told it’s a boy name or met a boy with my name.
I find it more masculine. I know two male Laytons and I’ve only seen it spelled Leighton as a surname. I agree with previous posters though that if you love it then you should use it. You’re never going to please everyone, just make sure you please yourselves.
I only know male Leighton’s. But I agree that it’s on your own head. If it’s what you like then why not?
I like it, but wouldn’t use it personally because I feel people would say Lee-ton.
That’s what I’m also worried about, but we don’t want to spell it Layton as it looks even more masculine.
Leighton is very feminine to me. I think Leighton Isabelle is very pretty.
It is a boys name.
Leighton sounds very masculine to me, sorry.
With this spelling, I think of Leighton Meester, so girly. I also just think the name in general sounds girly. My only problem with the name is the spelling not really matching the pronunciation. If I didn’t know better, I’d say like Lee-ton not Lay-ton.
