I don’t understand this how can you name a child Samantha and not expect the nicknames Sami and Sam?

My name is Samantha and when I was little I went by Sammi( you could spell it this way) and now I go by Sam. I was also called Sammi Kayla, Kayla is my middle name so you could call her Sammi whatever her middle name is. I also go called Samarama(Sam-uh-ram-uh).Why are you regretting it though? Because of the "boyish" nn’s?

My name is Samantha as well and I’ve always gone by Samantha, never Sam or Sammi. If you don’t want her to have nn’s you will just have to tell people that. I am wondering though how you didn’t realize that those would be nn’s for Samantha.

We did realize, but it was between a few other names and she gets Sam and Sami all the time, she is just so precious, I guess we feel we like the more feminine name, not the boyish nn. I know sounds crazy.

She can also go by her middle name, or she can go by a nickname that has nothing to do with her first name. Changing her name is also always an option.

My name is also samantha just found out about the nickname MiMi, and I love it. I asked my mom to call me that.
